The Story
When Rosie, a kind-hearted young fairy, gets stranded outside her world in a freezing snowstorm, she must enlist the help of Raven, a lonely little girl, to help her get home. But the only path back to Fairyworld is through a fully bloomed rose, and together, the duo must discover the secret that will coax one last late-blooming rose bud to open and allow for Rosie’s safe return to her world.
The Experience
Rosie & Raven helps to infuse basic mindfulness practices with wonder and delight by utilizing augmented reality to activate the magic hidden within the illustrations. The app is free and takes a few seconds to download. Reveal the secret world by viewing selected illustrations though the app with the sound on after completing the optional exercises on each page.
No screen time? No problem! The animations reinforce the messages in the story, but are not required. If you choose to read without using a device, Rosie & Raven stands alone as a traditional book.

Young children are captivated by the detailed illustrations and can do the simple exercises with their parents (with or without the app), while older children and adults can enjoy the nuance of the story as well as the playful animations.
The Inspiration
When Kayla was four years old, her mother used to do visualization and manifestation exercises with her, and those early explorations into mindfulness deeply influenced her path as an artist.
Her distinctive style of augmented reality art creates a mesmerizing and magical experience for the viewer, and this innovative approach to storytelling allows her to deliver tools for spiritual growth in a fun, engaging and totally fresh way.
Rosie & Raven aims to recreate the beautiful and connected experience Kayla had with her mother when she was a child. Using new technology to encourage in-person connection, she is planting the seeds our tech-savvy kids need to grow into healthy, emotionally mature adults.
